Proboks — Professional Services (www.tboks.com)

Issue

tBoks is a web resource for professional services.  Users can post requests to describe the type of service that they need: math class or tutoring, cleaning, ironing, translation, etc. This is sent in real time to all persons on the service who have the required skills. After the request has been sent, the parties can chat with each other and agree on how the service will be provided and paid for.

The tBoks service is well received in France, the home of Proboks. But Proboks didn't want to stop there. Communication is very important in providing this type of search and connection type service, therefore Proboks decided to expand on the ways that users can reach and interact with each other.  The next logical step was to provide a mobile solution of the tBoks service.
Solution Due to its popularity, and ease of use, it was decided that the first mobile solution would be developed for the iPhone.  The mobile solution duplicates some of the functionality that the web application provides, via a web service, while making it much easier and quicker for those needing services and those providing services to find each other.
Result
The new iPhone tBoks application enables users to register for the tBoks service, send job requests, see information about jobs they have done, communicate with other tBoks users, see and change account data, i.e. changing profile photo, change professional expertise, etc. The new app also supports targeted ads, which means that Proboks can send targeted messages to certain groups of users, e.g. either males or females; citizens of Paris or other cities, or based on any criteria.
