Softjourn Supports Future IT Professionals
What does working in IT actually look like beyond the code? For students exploring their future careers, finding the answer can be difficult when most of what they see focuses on programming.
During a recent visit to Softjourn’s office, students got a behind-the-scenes look at an IT services company, learned how projects move from an initial idea to delivery, and discovered the different roles that make it possible.
The session covered the project lifecycle and the responsibilities of the people involved at each stage, including business analysts, project managers, developers, and QA engineers. Students also learned how teams use AI tools in their everyday work.
My goal was to show how a project moves through a company and who contributes at each stage, so students can better understand which direction might suit them
For students, IT can seem like one big field where everyone writes code. A presentation like this shows it's much broader, with many different roles and paths. Knowing this early makes it easier to explore the options that might suit them.

The students summed up their visit in three words: “Expertise, atmosphere, processes.” They appreciated the managers’ insights into Softjourn’s work and the specifics of the FinTech and Media industries.
“We were impressed by the managers’ openness and how clearly and engagingly they explained complex processes,” the students shared.
Supporting Young Talent
This October, Softjourn also supported the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC 2026) in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, hosted by the Faculty of Information Technologies at IFNTUOG.
We attended the award ceremony, congratulated the winners, and presented them with gifts in recognition of their achievements.
