As part of this commitment, Spektrix sought to improve the way customers receive and access their tickets. Traditional methods—such as email-based digital tickets or printed confirmations—added unnecessary steps for both attendees and event staff.
To modernize the ticketing process, Spektrix introduced Apple Wallet and Google Wallet integration, allowing ticket buyers to store and access their tickets directly on their mobile devices.
Having previously worked with Softjourn to develop a scalable, serverless booking portal to handle high-traffic events, Spektrix once again turned to our team for expertise.
With our deep knowledge of API development and mobile integration, Softjourn was ready to bring this latest innovation to life.

Our Solution
Softjourn designed and built a proof of concept (PoC) that enabled seamless ticket importation into Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
The solution included:
- Integration with Spektrix’s API to enable pass generation with ticket details
- Compliance with Apple & Google guidelines to ensure smooth approval and compatibility across devices
- Backend service for ticket pass updates, allowing automatic changes in case of event modifications
- Secure certificate setup to authorize pass generation via Apple and Google developer accounts
- Cross-device validation to ensure full functionality across iOS and Android
Building the Solution
While the project was straightforward, Softjourn’s team had to navigate key technical challenges:
- Apple’s strict pass validation rules – Apple enforces rigid guidelines for pass formats, requiring additional research and iteration
- Differences between Apple and Google implementations – The two platforms have unique pass structures, which required careful adjustments
Softjourn’s engineers worked closely with Spektrix to align with Apple and Google’s frameworks, ensuring a smooth and fully compliant implementation. Through weekly iterations, the PoC was successfully delivered within four weeks.

Following the success of this integration, Spektrix and Softjourn continued their collaboration to develop the Custom Pass Builder, a tool that allows event organizers to design and modify ticket passes themselves—further expanding Spektrix’s commitment to flexibility and user empowerment.
Additionally, Softjourn and Spektrix are currently working on a Venue Mapping Tool Seat Map proof of concept aimed at enhancing the booking experience for reserved seating.
