Softjourn’s Venue Mapping Tool provided a reserved seating solution, integrating seamlessly with Ticketbud’s system. Softjourn also adapted the platform for Google Cloud, enhanced seating features, and deployed the solution using Kubernetes.

The Challenge

 

Ticketbud’s existing ticketing system was built for general admission events. However, some of their clients required more advanced functionality—specifically, reserved seating options. Without this feature, Ticketbud risked losing clients to competitors who could offer this flexibility.

The Solution

Softjourn’s Venue Mapping Tool (VMT) provided the perfect solution. Ticketbud chose to integrate VMT, relying on Softjourn’s expertise to add support for reserved seating. 

The integration process involved adapting Ticketbud’s system to accommodate seating charts, inventory management, and ticket type mapping, as well as updates in reporting, access control, and enhancements to their web and mobile ticket sales applications.

Softjourn also resolved technical hurdles, such as transitioning from MariaDB to MySQL due to incompatibility with Google Cloud Platform. 

Along the way, Softjourn enhanced VMT’s functionality with key features requested by Ticketbud, including whole-table booking and custom-shaped general admission areas. 

Softjourn also helped Ticketbud deploy the solution using Kubernetes and integrated VMT with their native mobile apps for box office sales and access control.
